Patent Ballet Pumps
Rose Repetto opened her ballet shoe company in 1947, creating shoes for the dancers at the nearby Palais Garnier in Paris. In 1956, a young Brigitte Bardot requested a pair of ballet shoes in glamorous red to wear in the movie that she was about to make, and so the ballet flats that we know today were born.
